Massiah Primary Top No 56
Massiah Primary defeated No 56 Primary by nine wickets to claim the Girls title, but their male counterparts suffered an eight-wicket loss to the same opponents when the AL Sport and Tour Promotions Upper Corentyne Primary Schools Windball Cricket took place recently.
In the Girls final No 56 Primary took first strike scored 35-5 in ﬁve overs. Massiah, playing in front of their home crowd hit off the required runs, losing just one wicket, ending on 38-1 with Chitranie Dharry scoring 16.
In the semi-ﬁnals, Massiah thumped two times defending champions No 48 Primary, while No 56 girls playing in their ﬁrst championship, beat Crabwood Creek.
In the male division, Massiah batted ﬁrst and made 54-6 off 5 overs. No 56, runner-up for the past ﬁve years replied with 56-2. Samuels Madray scored 36. In the semis No 56 beat Crabwood Creek and Massiah defeated New Market Primary.
Fourteen teams competed in the tournament which was organised by Sports Ofﬁcer Alistair Munroe.
