CPL Guyana Amazon Warriors News


With the Limacol Caribbean Premier League (CPL) off to a thrilling start in Grenada on Friday, Guyanese fans have been turning up in droves at the OPCO Middle Street Ticketing Office to purchase their tickets for the local leg next week.


Judging from the build-up at the Limacol Caribbean Premier League office on Middle Street on Friday, the Guyana National Stadium would no doubt be painted with the colours of the Guyana Amazon Warriors franchise, as Guyanese have been flocking the venue to get hold of their merchandise.

Remembering Ivor Mendonca


THE LOCAL cricketing fraternity was thrown into a state of mourning yesterday morning, following the death of 79-year-old Ivor Leon Mendonca.


Former Guyana and West Indies wicketkeeper/bastman Ivor Leon Mendonca passed away on Saturday morning, losing the battle to cancer. He was 79.


"Guyana's production of wicket-keepers has been somewhat limited. Wicket-keeping has remained Guyana's major weakness."


The High Court on Wednesday discharged an Interim Injunction obtained by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) against the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB). That injunction was granted by the Honourable Justice Sandra Kurtzious (in Chambers) on April 14.
